Hello!

If you've visited Victoria May Cottage then you'll probably realise it's me again! I've started this new blog because I've broadened my horizons to all sorts of crafts as well as my papercrafting. So, if you like what you see, please follow me and see what exciting new projects I find to bring to you.

Alittle Sunday morning sewing

So, it's only half past 2 and I feel like there's the whole day ahead - so what's next to do? That's my trouble - I have so mant things going around in my head, I don't know what to do first! Well this morning I woke up with all intention of decorating the downstairs loo because I knew that I could get the little project finished. But.....whilst looking at the emails on the computer, I noticed my EZ Dresden plate ruler and so that was it! Just gotta sew!! And here it is...actually finished. And that was before lunch, so I then tackled the patio. Pruned a few roses (don't know whether it's the right time to do that?), pulled a few weeds, rearranged the pots and swept away last years leaves which I found lurking, and then potted some plants which mother-in-law gave me yesterday!
Now with cuppa in hand, I'm thinking what should I do next?
If you pop back later, you might see what I decided!

I love making bags!!

Just a quick post this morning before I go to work so here's a sweet little bag that I made last week. The cheapest bag you'll ever make as it was made from a piece of canvas fabric from a sample book. The only cost was the covered button but that came from my stash!! I shall be making more of these and some different styles so please come back again and see what I have made!
Thanks for looking!

Making jewellery

Now I am just a novice at making jewellery but when you have friends who know how, it is so easy to make quick original pieces! These are so simple to make in about 10 minutes using basic tools: flat nosed pliers to flatten the crimp bead, beading wire, a toggle clasp, two crimp beads and your choice of beads. Everything was bought from Colemans Craft Warehouse except the shamballa beads, although I wish I had bought them from CCW. I ordered them from China just to see if they would actually arrive! It took 6 weeks and were no cheaper than buying them here - lesson learned!
Well,it's back to the decorating I think, which means sorting my craft stash into different places too - it's like getting a gallon into a pint pot!

Quickie Wedding cards

Well today is cardmaking day!
I need to have a wedding card ready for this evening so have made a choice of 4. Had to be a quick make so I've used a Kanban die-cut sheet here. But the one above is an image printed from the new Morehead CD from Crafters Companion. Aaww - they are so cute but it gave me a reason to keep printing. Just a very simple layout but hope the recipient will be happy!

New beginnings.....

I just love the world of Blogland! As I get so much inspiration from different places including blogs, I have decided to start afresh with a new blog. My tastes in crafting have moved on in leaps and bounds and I now find myself enjoying fabrics and paint and chipboard, as well as all types of papercrafting.
I made this key holder at a workshop, at Colemans Craft Warehouse in Rushden, recently, ran by the very talented Di Oliver from Tando Creative. There are so many more kits that are just waiting to be painted and sponged and embellished. If only time were on my side!
I'm looking forward to sharing more ideas with you using other media as well as giving you a few 'heads ups' on new crafting goodies arriving regularly in the store.
Please drop by frequently to see what I've been doing - I can't promise every day but hopefully more than I have been used to in the past!
Thanks for looking and see you soon!
